Micoblading is a manual skill of semi permanent eyebrow drawing, the shape of the eyebrows is calculated according to the Golden Ratio and natural facial morphology.

Pigment is applied into the surface layer of the dermis using sterile and disposable tools. The pigment colour is chosen to match the natural eyebrow hair colour. The treatment is performed using disposable sterile tools and pigments which are produced in accordance with the highest standards. Microbladed hairs are always drawn in the direction of the natural hair growth to achieve a natural and hyper-realistic look.

Successful results of the treatment depends on the skin quality of client, abiding by the post treatment care that will be provided, and exposure to different external factors like sun, sweat, retinols, etc.

First we arrange a consultation appointment, this is an opportunity to go through all aspects of the treatment together, I'll answer any questions you have, run through aftercare and perform an essential patch test. At this appointment we book your actual treatment in.

On the day of you treatment I will run through your aftercare process again and we will book our essential top up appointment in (this is considered the second half of the treatment) and is done 6 weeks after the initial treatment. This is an opportunity to refill any areas of the brow which may have faded over this period and make any adjustments needed to she shape and colour.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
How long will my microblading last?
This varies as all skin types are different, and depends on your lifestyle and how well you look after your eyebrows after the treatment.
If you have oily skin then generally the microblading can last between 6-9 months. If you have normal to dry skin then it can last between 12-18 months. Even after this time, however, if you have exceptionally dry skin, you may have some pigment left on your eyebrows. This could still allow you to fill it in much easier if desired.
The aftercare during the first 2 weeks of the procedure is very important in ensuring that the eyebrows heal properly (this will be explained in detail to you at your consultation). To maintain the longevity of your eyebrows you must also always wear good SPF, as UV exposure will break the pigment down very quickly in the skin. You can purchase an SPF from me thats specifically designed for microbladed eyebrows.
Excessive sweating or very active lifestyles may also cause your eyebrows to fade quicker, you can also purchase the SPF for this too as it is sweat proof- this will prevent them from fading quicker.

Does microblading hurt?
Everyones pain threshold is different. You might feel a slight discomfort but it is almost painless. As the blade cuts through the top layer of the skin you will feel a scratching sensation rather than pain- people have compared this to the same kind of feeling as threading. You will only feel this discomfort for the first 20 minutes of the treatment as anaesthetic is used for the rest of the treatment. The reason a pre-numbing isn't used is primarily for quality purposes, this can be explained further at your consultation.
How long does the treatment take?
The treatment usually takes around 2 hours. Essential top up treatments usually take around 1 hour.
How long is the healing period?
Your healing period is considered 7 days, during this time you need to follow all the aftercare requirements which you will be briefed on at the consultation. This is to ensure the skin heals correctly and quickly to avoid any pigment loss or any infections. It will take 7 days for the superficial layer of skin to heal, but up to 4 weeks for the internal layers of skin to fully heal. This is why its appropriate for your essential top up to take place after this time period. Please note that thinner, more mature skin types may take slightly longer- again this will be advised during your consultation.
Will I need a patch test?
Yes, it is a legal requirement for you to to undergo a patch test minimum 24 hours before your full microblading treatment. The process for this requires a small scratch behind each ear (this is done with a sterile and disposable blade, the same kind that will be used on the day of the treatment. Then pigment will be applied to one side and anaesthetic to the other. Pigment and anaesthetics is being inserted into the skin during the treatment not on top of the skin- therefore we must test it the same way.
Can I have microblading if I've had previous semi-permanent make up done?
80% of clients who have existing semi permanent make up are able to have their brows corrected or covered however this is subject to a consultation. Depending on your skin tone and natural eyebrow hair colour and how much of the old work is showing. In some cases, clients may be advised to have their old semi-permanent make up removed before having the treatment done. Please understand from an artists perspective, that if you choose not to have your old semi permanent make up removed (although not always required), this may effect the overall quality of your new brows.
Can I have microblading if I am pregnant or breastfeeding?
It is not possible to have microblading done whilst you are still pregnant or breastfeeding, you must wait a minimum of 2 weeks after giving birth for your hormones to regulate before having the treatment done. You must also wait until you have finished breast feeding, primarily because not enough research has been done to prove that the treatment cant harm your child through breast feeding , although very unlikely- not with the risk. Additionally, certain hormones released in the body when breastfeeding will cause your skin to reject the pigment, ultimately resulting in them completely disappearing days/weeks after the treatment.
I've had microblading done before with someone else, is a consultation still essential before booking in with you?
Yes! It is still essential, especially if you've had work done elsewhere. Other artists may not use the same pigments as me, the treatment process may not be the same etc. and its important for the client to understand all this before having microbading done. Additionally, I will not 'touch up' someone else's work, generally this means you will need a full treatment but again this can be discussed during your consultation.
How do I book an appointment?
To book an appointment you can click on 'Book an Appointment' and choose a date and time to best suit you! If you are a new client please book your 'consultation' before any other treatment option. If you are an existing client but are yet to have your 'essential top up' or if you are looking to book an 'additional top up session' then you may also make an appointment for this through our online booking system. If you are traveling from outside Wales, please get in touch via email so we can have a brief online consultation before traveling down to rule out any essential reasons that you may not be able to have the treatment done! Additionally, get in touch via phone or email if you have any further enquiries before making an appointment.
